We actually enjoyed driving across Kansas. The landscape really changes here from the "East Coast" look to a more dry and desolate place. We drove across Kansas in one shot. It was a long day, and we were thankful for stopping that night in Colorado. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the road and made it to our destination in Colorado around 10:00 PM.
